COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

OUR CULTURE OF COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AT EPWORTH

Community engagement is embedded in the culture of Epworth, and we firmly believe that a lifetime of service begins at school.

It reflects our ongoing commitment to live the legacy of the Methodist ethos, of which service is a key element at our Christian school. It's important for us to extend our core values to the outside community, which means using our personal and school resources to benefit others and the world around us. Only through values-based education are young people guided towards making sensible and compassionate decisions that balance personal interests and needs alongside the wider issues of our society.

Community engagement activities expose our pupils to the real world, helping them to develop a wider understanding of different ways of life and an appreciation of privilege. Through these activities, pupils acquire new skills, knowledge and experiences, enabling them to be positive contributors to society. Documented evidence suggests that participation in community service positively impacts pupils’ personal and social development.
