The November/December edition of the Midlands Magazine describes Amanda as follows: “Amanda is a Momtrepreneur in the true sense. She runs a successful business as a Marketing Communications specialist and is the founder of Moms of the Midlands. Her motherhood journey has inspired her to create a space for moms to connect, learn and thrive.”

Thank you to Epworth for providing me with such an excellent foundation for my continued education and career as a neuropsychologist and Wellcome Trust Research Fellow. My formative high school years instilled lifelong values within me and helped me gain a strong sense of direction and purpose which has been an important part of my journey, both personally and professionally.

Epworth is an incredible school that in many ways nurtured each student to achieve in their fields of interest and now can be proud of the wide variety of role models they have for their younger current students.

Becoming a doctor has been a dream of mine since Grade 4. I decided at that point that I would not settle for anything less. Not getting accepted into medical school obviously broke my heart, and I set off to study a bachelor’s degree in science. One week into the start of that degree, I received a phone call from Wits saying that they had been trying to reach me as I have a place there to study medicine. I could not believe it!

Sunusha Moodley and Tiara Joseph (class of 2019) are peers and friends from Epworth. How exciting that they have both been appointed to serve on the executive of the University of Pretoria’s Constitutional Tribunal (student court). Sunusha will assume the role of Registrar and Tiara of Chief Justice.
