Academics

All pupils in Grades 1 to 7 are encouraged to stretch and explore their academic talents in a safe environment, without undue emphasis on competition. The balanced academic programme promotes critical thinking, problem-solving and creativity. We emphasise the development of basic skills as a foundation for all learning and encourage our pupils to become independent thinkers. This builds self-confidence and a sense of responsibility. Group work develops pupils’ interpersonal skills.

Information and communication technology, life orientation, design and technology, art, drama, music and physical education all form part of the daily programme. We encourage all pupils to fully participate in these lessons as they take place in a nurturing environment.

We conduct a mentorship programme in which all our Grade 1 pupils are paired for the year with Grade 7 mentors who ensure they feel secure and cared for as they find their way around the school.
