Grade 8s inducted into Epworth

At the beginning of the second term, the Grade 8 celebrated a special milestone as they were officially inducted into Epworth, signing in as the class of 2029. In five years’ time, this journey will come full circle when they sign out during their Leavers’ Communion.

As part of the service, they all the Grade 8s signed a register and received a candle from the Head, Mrs Redfern. The following inscription appears at the front of the register:
“This register marks the official signing in of an Epworth girl after a term at our school. She will receive a candle after the communion service. At her last chapel service in Grade 12, she will again receive a candle and exit our lovely chapel for the last time as an Epworth girl. This will bring full circle this rite of passage, with the candles serving as a reminder not only of our school but also of the light of God, carried in the hearts of all our dear girls.”
