Epworth takes great pleasure in announcing that Mrs Dionne Redfern has been appointed as the Head of Epworth High School, effective 1 April 2024.
Dionne is an experienced and high-performing educator who exemplifies the characteristics and experience that the Epworth Board of Governors believes are critical for our high school. She has honed her educational skills and obtained extensive experience as a head, deputy head and HOD at various prestigious independent and government schools. An exemplary leader in the academic, sporting and cultural spheres, Dionne is sensitive to the considerations and challenges of both history and diversity. She has a caring nature and is dedicated to her spiritual life.
“I believe education should inspire intrinsically motivated, life-long learners,” said Dionne when questioned about her educational philosophy.
Dionne will be joining us from Stanford Lake College in the Limpopo province; we are delighted she is coming back to KwaZulu-Natal, where she attended Howick High School and the University of KwaZulu-Natal. We look forward to welcoming her to Epworth in 2024 and are excited for her to lead the High School into its next chapter.
